Pigeons

Melbourne Bird Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr Colin Walker, a successful pigeon racer and international authority on pigeon health and diseases. While now retired, Dr Walker has trained his successors at the clinic and still consults with the avian veterinarians regarding challenging pigeon health issues.

Pigeons have a distinct range of health problems compared with other birds species. With racing pigeons,  there is  the challenge of all that goes into keeping birds at peak performance for both racing and breeding. These articles have been written by Dr Walker and other avian veterinarians and are based around common issues seen at Melbourne Bird Veterinary Clinic. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call the clinic on (03) 9764 9000
