MAX

Bachelor of Environmental & Conservation Science

Max has always had a passion for animals since he was young; first wanting to be a reptile veterinarian and then a zookeeper. As he got older, Max shifted his focus to wildlife conservation and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Environmental & Conservation Science at Federation University. Max’s main area of interest is invasive species management and is passionate about educating the public on responsible pet ownership.

Max currently works as a zookeeper at Gumbuya World in Tynong, and Reptile Encounters in Burwood, in addition to starting his traineeship with MBVC. Max was drawn to working with birds after training an Eclectus parrot, Quilla, at Reptile Encounters.

Max has two silkie chickens at home (Peggy & Henrietta) as well as two bearded dragons (Rhaegar & Gravy), a shingleback lizard (Eureka), and a frill-neck lizard.
