Mon

B.ED. (hons)., CERTIFICATE IV IN VETERINARY NURSING (TRAINEE)

Mon has had a love for animals and interest in veterinary medicine from a young age. After first completing a Bachelor of Education, she is now determined to pursue her dream career in veterinary care. Her particular areas of interest include enrichment, nutrition, and avian medicine, although you’ll often find her asking the experts about all sorts of topics and expanding her knowledge wherever she can.

In 2020, Mon joined the team at MBVC as a junior nurse to gain experience before studying veterinary medicine, but instead she fell in love with nursing! Since then, she has grown with the practice and, in 2026, stepped into the role of Practice Manager and Head Nurse. Working in a professional veterinary environment alongside experienced experts has given her the opportunity to develop valuable practical knowledge and gain insight into a wide range of cases. One of her favourite parts of the job is hearing about the clinic’s feathered patients and learning from every case, big or small.

At home, Mon’s flock includes Budgerigars, Canaries, Cockatiels, Finches, Alexandrines and Ringnecks, alongside her two cats: The Grumpy old Mitzy and a street kitten, Dumpling. Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find Mon caring for birds through her charity work with budgies, or discovering new adventures with her partner.
