Mon has had an interest in veterinary care and animal behaviour since she was young. She is determined to pursue her dream career in veterinary medicine, despite spending time obtaining a Bachelor of Education first. Her main area of interests are enrichment, nutrition, and avian medicine, but you’ll often find her querying the experts on all sorts of topics.

In 2020, Mon was lucky enough to land an amazing opportunity to work with the team at MBVC while she studies her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. The environment allows her to gain practical knowledge about the ongoings of a professional clinic while working alongside experts in a unique environment. One of her favourite parts of the job is hearing about different feathered clients and learning about all cases, big or small.

Her flock contains a multitude of small birds such as Budgerigars (Lasagna, Sherlock, Pluto, Jasper & Sugar Sweet Tweet), Canaries (Meatball & Oreo Storm), Cockatiels (Angry Birb & Floofn' Biscuit) and 9 finches as well as four noisy Asiatic parrots (Isuzu & Zazu; Stevie & Kenai). You’ll often find her tending to her bird’s needs, fostering rescue animals, hanging with her calico (Mitzy) or going on a new adventure with her partner.
